Happy New Year, LJ friends!
Yeah, it's a few weeks into the new year. Sorry for being so absent. But I have good reason! Christmas knocked my hiney! I had grand plans to make a storybook for each of my sister's 5 kids. Great idea in theory, but it took every single minute, late into the night, every day until Christmas eve. Truly! Christmas eve, I was just praying I didn't run out of ink for my printer because the store was closed. I made it. Barely.

The books turned out great, too! And the kids loved them! I made each book specific to each child's interests and reading level. The hardest was the chapter book I wrote for the 3rd grade girl. Took me WEEKS to write it... and she read it in 20 minutes! LOL.

Here are pics of the front and back covers from a couple of the books as examples.

Since then, I've just been enjoying life and family. I have nothing to complain about.

Oh, and really good news! My leg wounds are finally healed! After almost 2 years of dealing with these same stupid wounds, they're finally all healed up! Now I can start the next stage of my health program. I've made an appointment with a physical therapist at the local health park to help me get rid of some of the more stubborn areas of lymphedema. And I'm going to start aqua aerobics! Yay! Can't wait!

I've started writing fanfic again, too. Dusted off an old WIP. Hoping to finish it in the next few days. It was almost completed when I set it aside! Guess I lost all interest when my little brother died over a year and a half ago, but that was a long time ago. I've healed, and life goes on. He enjoyed my writing and wouldn't want me to quit just because I miss him. That's silly. So here I am.

That's about it. Overall good stuff. Hope all my friends are doing well.

Thanks! And thanks!

We've been missing each other on IM lately. I'm on right now, but you're nowhere in sight. Ah well. But I'm glad we were able to talk a few days ago. So much catching up to do!

Happy New Year Jenn!!

What a wonderful Christmas gift you gave your nieces and nephews. Those kinds of gifts are priceless, and how awesome of you to provide them with something from the heart.

So excited for you that your legs have finally healed up. All small steps in the right direction. Now some more steps forward with physical therapy and exercise. Totally awesome for you.

good for you for writing again. I look forward to reading some more of your work.

Happy New Year, Evelyn! Though I'm a bit late in responding.

I'm glad we were able to chat a few days ago. Hope you're having a good week, my friend.

I inquired at the local Health Park about membership. They said I could apply for a "scholarship" to receive free membership, but it'll take about 6 weeks to process. That's okay. More time for me to work on losing some weight first. And for my wounds to get good and healed.
