Look! A meme! Yay!

Snagged from alleysweeper and wings128

01. Earliest show you remember getting into.
The first show I followed was Young Guns. At first, it was simply an excuse to bond with my little sister over something... anything. Then we both grew to truly love it. (Note, I have since watched again as an adult and don't know what I saw in it back then. Some things should remain beloved memories.)

02. First anime watched.
Don't watch any.

03. A show you've been meaning to finish.
Until recently, it was Smallville and Gilmore Girls, but I managed to get caught up on both. I'd like to see all of the new Battlestar Galactica and Hawaii Five-O. I also never started the new "V" series but wanted to. Does that count?

04. 2 shows you abandoned.
The Strain and Once Upon a Time (though this one actually looks good. It conflicted with something I liked more, and at that time I didn't have a DVR. Had to cut something, so this was it.)

05. A series you're currently watching.
Fall lineup includes:
Royal Pains
Defiance
The Last Ship
Falling Skies
Hollywood Game Night

And new shows I'm trying this Fall:
The Whispers
Stitchers
Dark Matter
Killjoys

06. A show you're sad is over.
Forever (canceled way before its time) and Stargate Atlantis (I miss my Stargate fix)

07. Favorite series finale.
I have to second my friend wings128 and say that the Gilmore Girls finale was quite satisfying. It beautifully tied up this wonderful series while also leaving the future open to the imagination.

M*A*S*H - Another fantastic and highly satisfying ending. I still sob when I watch it. This is the way to do a finale!!

08. A series finale you would change.
Lost. Such a good series, such a weird, unsatisfying ending.

09. Worst TV program you've ever seen.
Ever? That's quite serious. Honestly, I don't remember. I tend to block the bad ones out or I just don't watch them (For example, you'd have to tie me to a chair and tape my eyes open to get me to watch Dog With A Blog *shudders*).

10. A show that shouldn't have been cancelled.
Forever, Firefly, Mutant X (though I do understand MX... the fanbase was very small, and the show certainly wasn't top quality, but it was going somewhere. Just needed another season or two to finish the story. I feel empty inside.)

11. A show that needs to end
All About Us. I'm tired of the commercials. They're everywhere! It's on a channel we watch a lot since they play some kid-friendly shows, but these commercials drive me between.

12. Favorite cartoon.
I used to watch Kim Possible. Now I mostly watch whatever the kids watch. Of those, I prefer Jake and the Neverland Pirates or Sophia the First.

13. Favorite reboot.
None come to mind. Battlestar Galactica looked good, and I loved the original, but I didn't keep up with the latest show. I'm also guessing Doctor Who doesn't count because it's not exactly a reboot, but rather a continuation of the original story.

14. A TV adaptation you'd like to see
Hmmm... do you think they could do a Hobbits series? Life in the Shire? That'd be cool! lol

15. Saddest TV moment.
The moment that made me cry the hardest was Supernatural Season 4 Heaven and Hell, the "crying on the Impala" scene. I sob every single time.

Second to that, Stargate Atlantis, Season 5 The Shrine, when John and Rodney are having their heart-to-heart over a couple of beers, with Rodney worried that he's losing himself and John being super supportive. It's not often these guys show us how deep their friendship goes.

16. Most satisfying TV moment.
Supernatural again, Season 6 Like a Virgin, when Sammy finally wakes up after half a season of being RoboSam, and they HUG!!!! Yes!!!

17. A character you identify with.
Jesse Kilmartin on Mutant X. He's so quiet and unassuming that, at first, he doesn't fully realize his own worth. He was just starting to reach his potential when they cancelled the series! Dang!

18. A character that reminds you of your friend.
River Song from Doctor Who reminds me of my friend Gini: slightly unhinged, out to suck the fun out of life, but immensely loyal to those she loves.

19. Favorite talk show.
Don't watch any.

20. Sports or nah.
Nah. I'd rather read a book or write fanfic.

21. A TV world you'd like to live in.
Well, certainly NOT The Walking Dead! I'd be the first one eaten! I don't run very quickly. LOL. Perhaps I could wedge myself in a doorway to save my family from a pack of walkers. Yeah, that'd be cool. Tangent, sorry.

Where would I like to live? Well, if Mal won't let me hitch a ride on Serenity, perhaps I could carve out my own spot near the shore on the Lost island.

Ohhh, that scene in season 4 of spn did a number on me, I couldn't stop sobbing like a loon for a full ten minutes afterwards, just uncontrollable pain leaking out my eyes!
Wynefredwynefred on June 15th, 2015 06:58 pm (UTC)
Yes, the pain! Jensen is so good at yanking my heart out and squeezing it to death.
alleysweeperalleysweeper on June 15th, 2015 07:35 pm (UTC)
Haha! Everyone's first choice is Firefly as the Show that shouldn't have been cancelled. I agree with Forever. I liked that one. It had potential.

I am really surprised no one has watched anime. My brother watched Speed Racer. How could I unsee it?
Wynefredwynefred on June 19th, 2015 09:11 pm (UTC)
Forever really was a good show. Personally, I think it didn't draw an audience because it wasn't flashy enough, but I liked it BECAUSE it wasn't flashy. It was just good, clean fun. One of the few shows I liked that I could watch in front of the kids. That's rare.

Firefly... yeah. That's because it's the one that hurts the most! LOL. At least we were given the movie. That helps a little.

Does Voltron count? I watched that as a kid. Otherwise, nope, I haven't seen any. Don't know why. Just haven't. *shrugs*
wings128: Shex!Canonwings128 on June 16th, 2015 12:17 am (UTC)
\o/ Kim Possible! :D

Hobbiton still exists here, in fact it's a huge tourist destination, so it wouldn't be impossible to start up a show.

"The Shrine" is a fantastic all round episode with great character depth/exploration for everyone, I think.

Wynefredwynefred on June 19th, 2015 09:23 pm (UTC)
I know! I tried to get the kids into Kim Possible, but they thought it was boring. What??? They liked the episode I showed them with the monkeys, but otherwise... nope.

That's so true! Some friends of mine had their honeymoon there. And I'm more than a little jealous that you live there! Seems to be the most beautiful place in the world.

I agree. "The Shrine" is my favorite episode of the entire series, but then, I'm a Rodney girl.
wings128: Shex!starwarswings128 on June 20th, 2015 01:22 am (UTC)
I had better success with my two, lol.

I'm pretty proud of my country, when you get the chance to visit, stop on by, the door's always open :)

Everyone knows that I am most definitely NOT a Rodney girl, but having said that I recognise his value on the team, and in the show. There are many reasons I love "The Shrine" as an episode, and David's acting prowess is one of them.
Wynefredwynefred on June 20th, 2015 04:53 am (UTC)
Visiting your country is definitely on my bucket list.

Yeah, I did know that about you. Heehee. I'm not a big John fan, but I certainly don't dislike him. In fact, his friendship with Rodney makes me all teary sometimes. I love those guys together. Besides, we don't have to like the same people to appreciate the show together.
wings128: Atlantis!firewings128 on June 20th, 2015 05:15 am (UTC)
Besides, we don't have to like the same people to appreciate the show together.
And that is what makes it such a great show :)

can I play?
01. Earliest show you remember getting into.

Starsky & Hutch, 7th grade. My bestie & I wrote an epic fanfic story for an English assignment, where we filled an entire spiral notebook with our version of "Kill Starsky."

02. First anime watched.

Speed Racer, back in the day. Go, Speed, Go!

03. A show you've been meaning to finish.

Hmmm, maybe "Lost", but only the episodes with my darling Ian Somerhalder.

04. 2 shows you abandoned.

The Following
Supernatural (ducks rocks)

05. A series you're currently watching.

Once Upon a Time
Ripper Street
Hell on Wheels
Vampire Diaries
Teen Wolf

And new shows I'm trying this Fall:

Haven't looked at the schedules yet

06. A show you're sad is over.

Lonesome Dove, the Outlaw Years (starring a baby Eric McCormack as Col. Francis Clay Mosby. See my icon)

07. Favorite series finale.

Justified

08. A series finale you would change.
Lost. Such a good series, such a weird, unsatisfying ending.

09. Worst TV program you've ever seen.

whoa, I've had a few I thought were goofy, but that would take some consideration......

10. A show that shouldn't have been cancelled.

Too many to list here!

11. A show that needs to end

ummmmm, Supernatural (I'm sorry! I tried just watching the Dean scenes for 2 whole seasons, but this last one, I couldn't even manage that. I love Jensen, but it's time to let Deano and his Baby drive off into the sunset.

whoops, break time is over. If you're still talking to me (ha ha), I'll finish this later.......

Wynefredwynefred on June 19th, 2015 09:40 pm (UTC)
Re: can I play?
Of course you can play! And HI!!! Haven't seen you in a while! Hope you're doing well!

Wow, you started writing fanfic early. Good for you!

Ian Somerhalder did a really good job in Lost. I liked his character a lot.

You never have to duck rocks with me, sweetie. I don't judge. I'm still watching and enjoying Supernatural, but I know many people aren't happy with it and have left. That's okay. They can't please everyone.

I'd love it if you finished. I miss hearing from you! *hugs*

laurie_bug: Aramislaurie_bug on June 26th, 2015 10:32 pm (UTC)
whoa....that was a LONG break (lol)
Hey! Have been on vacation this week, and haven't been online much. Thanks for being so welcoming and sweet. I'm glad that you're still enjoying SPN, and having fun with the fannish side of things. I really adored it, for a long time, and made many friends and read some amazing fanfiction.

But while Dean will be forever one of my favorite fictional people, I'm just not digging the direction the show has taken these last few years. And most of the authors I followed have moved on to other fandoms, so I have too.

One of my current obsessions is the BBC "Musketeers." I loved those characters since I saw the 1970's movies when I was a kid, and devoured the whole series of books. Men with swords.....well, what can I say? And this new incarnation of Aramis hits all my "gorgeous man" checklist points! (see icon)

Hope you are enjoying your summer, and that the kidlets aren't driving you tooooo crazy.

Take care......

Re: here's a better Aramis picture......
Thanks for the pics. He does look like a cutie. :D

Re: whoa....that was a LONG break (lol)
Hope you had a great vacation.

Yeah, some of my favorite fanfic authors are writing a lot less these days, if at all. It's ok, though. I don't read fanfic as obsessively as I used to either.

I've never watched Musketeers. Glad you're enjoying it. :D

The kids are fine. They're roughhousing with their dad right now. Not a type of play I'm comfortable with, but they all seem to enjoy it.

I LOVED Young Guns. Rick Worthy, our Alpha Vamp, was on that show, remember? I started watching that one for Michael Biehn, stayed for the show.
